Fiorde Challenge
Importing stacker cranes with palletizers and a SHUTTLE system. Due to the large volume of equipment that made up the project, our challenge was logistics and the application of tax benefits, as the imported equipment was disassembled and shipped partially.
Strategy
Transfer all project shipments to a Customs Bonded Warehouse in a secondary area, using a single DI registration with early deliveries.
Results
In this project, we had more than 50 shipments per piece of equipment. We handled more than 100 containers in this operation, which took over 11 months, with the equipment disassembled, thus preventing customs inspection of the goods at the Customs Bonded Warehouse.
Due to the need for the application of an EX-tariff, a tax benefit granted by the Government for the importation of Capital Goods (machinery and equipment), reducing the import tax rate to 0%.
Where the equipment had to literally match the EX description since we did not have the complete equipment, it would prevent the application of the EX, as we could not wait for all containers to arrive for the inspection and registration of the import declaration, as it would compromise the equipment assembly project. In addition, we had an import receipt period longer than the deadline set by the legislation for the goods to remain in the customs bonded warehouse, which is 120 days, while the equipment import schedule envisaged importation in more than 360 days.
We achieved 100% success in this operation, with savings of more than R$5,000,000.00. Learn more at: Link to external article
