Fiorde Group has been serving a major player in the grease and lubricants manufacturing industry based in Brazil for 50 years, handling customs clearance and advisory services.

Challenges

In 2022, a factory expansion project was carried out in Brazil, where it would be necessary to reduce import costs for a new reactor for the production of special greases and lubricants for the pharmaceutical and food industries.

Strategies

In this way, the creation of a Ex-tariff was suggested, with our advisory team responsible for formulating and obtaining the Ex-tariff from the Ministry of Economy. The responsibility for the analysis and approval of the Ex-tariff was transferred to MDIC. Due to the large volume of goods and the impossibility of inspection at the Customs Bonded Warehouse, we carried out the early delivery process, conducting customs and physical verification of the goods after assembly at the company.

Results

In October 2022, we obtained approval and deferment of the Ex-tariff, thus reducing the import duty rate from 11.20% to 0%. In addition, we achieved a 100% successful operation, resulting in a saving of R$ 406,235.12 for the client.
